WRPS' Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation Unit Charges Kitchener Male

Cybercrime Investigation

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police Service's Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation Unit has laid charges in relation to a child pornography investigation. 

In March 2023, police began a child pornography investigation.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, on April 6, 2023, police arrested and charged a Kitchener male with:

  • Making Available Child Pornography
  • Possession of Child Pornography (two counts)

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
