WRPS Drugs and Firearms Unit Arrest Toronto Male after Search Warrant Completed

Waterloo Region, Ontario– Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Drugs and Firearms Unit have arrested a male after completing an investigation. 

On March 8, 2023, police completed a search warrant at a residence in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue area of Toronto in connection to the investigation. 

As a result, police seized two loaded firearms, suspected fentanyl, and approximately $42,000 in Canadian currency.

A 26-year-old Toronto male has been arrested and charged with several criminal offences, including: 

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm (two counts) 
  • Careless storage of a firearm (two counts) 
  • Careless storage of ammunition 
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm (two counts) 
  • Possession of a prohibited device (two counts)
  • Breach of weapons prohibition order (two counts) 
  • Proceeds of crime over $5,000 

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on March 9, 2023.
