WRPS Investigate Attempt Robbery at Waterloo Business

Robbery investigation ongoing.

Waterloo Region, Ontario - Waterloo Regional Police are investigating an attempt robbery after receiving a report at a business in the area of Erb Street West and Fischer-Hallman Road in Waterloo.

On August 8, 2022, at approximately 9:25 a.m., two individuals attended a business on Erb Street West. A male opened the door to the business and propped it open while a second male exited a vehicle and rushed into the business.

An employee inside the business believed that they were about to be robbed and proactively triggered the panic alarm. The employee then ran into the back office and locked the door. Both males exited the business and fled the area.

There were no physical injuries reported as a result of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Robbery Unit.
