WRPS Investigating Attempt Robbery in Kitchener

UPDATED RELEASE: 

Waterloo Region, Ontario - On January 19, 2022, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Robbery Team arrested and charged a 15-year-old male in connection to this incident. 

The youth has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, failure to comply with release order and three counts of breach of probation.

The youth was held in police custody for a bail hearing.

UPDATED RELEASE:

On January 13, 2022, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Robbery Team arrested and charged a 20-year-old male in relation to this incident.

The male has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery and assault.

Investigators are currently looking to identify and speak with another person in connection to this incident.

This person is described as a white male, approximately 18 to 20 years old. The male was wearing a yellow shirt, blue hooded jacket, red vest, a black and white baseball hat and black pants at the time of the incident.

PREVIOUS RELEASE:

Waterloo Region, Ontario – On January 3, 2022, at approximately 8:35 p.m., police received a report of a stabbing in the area of King Street East and Queen Street North in Kitchener.

The two occupants of a black vehicle were involved in a physical altercation with three suspects walking along King Street East.

The male driver was stabbed as a result of the altercation and was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The female passenger was assaulted and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

One of the suspects attempted to take the vehicle involved before fleeing the area.

All three suspects were last seen walking east on King Street East.

The investigation is ongoing.
