WRPS Investigating Property Damage to LRT Trains in Waterloo

Waterloo Region, Ontario - Waterloo Regional Police are investigating two reports of property damage to ION Light Rail Transit (LRT) trains in Waterloo. 

Between December 10 and December 12, 2022, police responded to separate reports of objects being thrown at an LRT while it was in motion in the area of Old Albert Street and Glenelm Crescent. 

The trains were taken out of service for repairs, and damage is estimated at $8,000. 

There were no reported physical injuries in either incident. 

The investigation is ongoing.
