WRPS Investigating Robbery in the King and University Area of Waterloo

Waterloo Region, Ontario - Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after receiving a report of an attempted robbery in the area of King Street North and University Avenue East in Waterloo. 

On August 11, 2022, police received a report of a male being assaulted while at a licensed establishment. 

The suspects attempted to steal personal property, however, they were unsuccessful. 

A verbal altercation between the parties later continued while outside. 

The victim, a 19-year-old Guelph male, sustained minor physical injuries. 

The incident took place around 2 a.m., and police were later notified. 

The investigation is ongoing.
