WRPS Make Arrest after Reports of Two Early Morning Fires in Kitchener

Ongoing investigation.

Waterloo Region, Ontario - On October 8, 2022, at approximately 7:45 a.m., emergency services responded to reports of a car fire at a business in the area of Victoria Street North and Natchez Road in Kitchener.

The Kitchener Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire. The suspect fled the area and there were no physical injuries reported as a result of this incident.

Through investigation, it was determined that the same suspect had attended a separate business at approximately 4:15 a.m., also in the area of Victoria Street North and Natchez Road.

The suspect allegedly started a mattress on fire and fled the area. The Kitchener Fire Department had attended and extinguished the fire. There were no physical injuries reported as a result of this incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Break, Enter and Commit Arson
  • Arson- Damage to Property

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
