WRPS Officer Arrested in Off-Duty Incident

Media Release

Waterloo Region, Ontario –  As a result of an investigation conducted by the Hamilton Police Service, a two-year member with the Waterloo Regional Police Service has been charged with two counts of Assault.

The member, a patrol Constable in North Division, was arrested on August 9, 2020. The reported incidents occurred between January 2019 and October 2019 in Hamilton and in Kitchener.

The member has been suspended with pay as per the legislative requirements of the Police Services Act of Ontario.

The member is scheduled to appear in Ontario Provincial Court of Justice in Hamilton on October 16, 2020.

The disclosure of further details, including the name of the member, is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
