
Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested four drivers for impaired offences on roadways throughout Waterloo Region in less than an hour.
In Cambridge, on April 4, 2025, just before 2:15 a.m., police responded to the area of Myers Road and Elgin Street South after receiving a report of a Chevrolet pickup truck driving through a fence and hitting a parked vehicle. No physical injuries were reported. The driver, a 40-year-old Cambridge male, was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration, Failure to stop after accident, Dangerous Operation, and Assault a Peace Officer.
A short time later, just after 2:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a Cadillac colliding with parked vehicles, a light pole, and a tree in the Laurentian West neighbourhood of Kitchener. No physical injuries were reported. The driver, a 29-year-old male from Kitchener, was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration, and Dangerous Operation.
Drivers were also arrested for impaired driving in Kitchener's Grand River South area and near Bechtel Park in Waterloo. In total, 12 charges were laid for impaired-related offences between 2 a.m. and 2:45 a.m. on April 4, 2025.
