WRPS Respond to Collision on King Street South in Waterloo

Collision investigation.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Unit have charged a driver after investigating a collision in Waterloo.

On September 6, 2022, at approximately 12:30 p.m., emergency services responded to a motor vehicle collision between a vehicle and LRT train at the intersection of King Street South and Union Street.

Through investigation, police determined that a driver of a Toyota motor vehicle was travelling on King Street South. The driver attempted to turn left onto Union Street and collided with a LRT train traveling north.

There were no physical injuries reported.

The driver of the Toyota, an 82-year-old Kitchener female was charged with Careless Driving.

The intersection was closed for the investigation.
