WRPS Respond to Found Skeletal Remains at a Kitchener Construction Site

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police responded to an incident where skeletal remains were located in Kitchener.

On August 21, 2024, police responded to the area of Church Street and Benton Street for reports of human remains being found.

During the excavation at a construction site, workers located the remains and contacted the police.

WRPS’ General Investigations Unit attended the scene with the assistance of a Forensic Anthropologist and the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Through the investigation, it was determined the body was placed there by no suspicious or criminal actions.

The Ministry of Public Health and Business Service Delivery and Procurement has taken over the handling of this matter.
