WRPS' Robbery Team Investigating after Weapon Brandished at Store Employee in Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate after a weapon was brandished during a shoplifting incident in Kitchener.

On November 7, 2024, at approximately 7:40 a.m., police responded to a store in the area of Fairway Road South and Manitou Drive for a robbery report.

A store employee, a 23-year-old Brampton male, attempted to intervene and arrest an unknown male suspect who stole merchandise from the store. The unknown suspect brandished a conducted energy weapon (CEW) and fled the area.

The suspect is described as a White male, 5’7”, with a slim build, wearing a black coat, black pants, and a black baseball cap.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

The investigation is ongoing by WRPS’ Robbery Team.
