WRPS' Robbery Team Investigating Commercial Robbery in Kitchener

UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Robbery Team have arrested a male in connection to a commercial robbery in Kitchener.

On October 29, 2023, at approximately 12:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at a store in the area of Lancaster Street West and Bridgeport Road West.

An unknown male suspect entered the store, brandished a firearm, and stole merchandise.

Investigators completed a search warrant at a residence in Wellesley Township and seized a replica firearm.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, on November 23, 2023, a 22-year-old Wellesley Township male was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Robbery with a firearm 
  • Disguise with intent

The male was held for a bail hearing.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a commercial robbery involving a firearm in Kitchener.

On October 29, 2023, at approximately 12:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at a store in the area of Lancaster Street West and Bridgeport Road West.

An unknown male suspect entered the store, brandished a firearm, and stole merchandise.

The suspect fled the area on foot.

There were no physical injuries reported as a result of this incident.

The investigation is ongoing by WRPS’ Robbery Team.
