WRPS Seize Drugs and Loaded Firearm in Kitchener Traffic Stop

Ongoing investigation.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police seize suspected drugs and a loaded firearm as a result of a traffic stop in Kitchener.

On January 7, 2023, at approximately 1:15 p.m., officers from WRPS’ Neighbourhood Policing Central Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Kinzie Avenue and Weber Street East.

Through the investigation, suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine were seized. A loaded firearm was also seized.

As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose trafficking (four counts)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle
  • Possession of a loaded restricted firearm
  • Tampering with serial number
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Possession contrary to order (four counts)

A 42-year-old Kitchener female was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose trafficking (four counts)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle
  • Possession of a loaded restricted firearm
  • Tampering with serial number
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Obstruct Police

A 41-year-old Kitchener female was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose trafficking (four counts)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle
  • Possession of a loaded restricted firearm
  • Tampering with serial number
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

A 51-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose trafficking (four counts)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle
  • Possession of a loaded restricted firearm
  • Tampering with serial number
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

All four individuals were held for a bail hearing. The investigation is ongoing.
