WRPS' Special Victims Unit Investigating Report of Sexual Assault in Cambridge's Soper Park

Special Victims Unit Investigation

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a report of a sexual assault in Cambridge.

On April 8, 2025, at approximately 3 p.m., a female youth was on the swings in Soper Park when an unknown male approached her.

The male spoke to the female victim, began to push her on the swing, and sexually assaulted her.

There were no reported physical injuries.

The male is described as Black, with a heavy build, between 18–40 years old, wearing a black/grey hoodie with the hood up, carrying a backpack and wearing white wired earbuds.

The investigation is ongoing by WRPS’ Special Victims Unit
