Special Victims Unit Investigation

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a report of a suspicious person in Waterloo.

On June 23, 2024, at approximately 6 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious male approaching a youth at a store in the area of Albert Street and Hazel Street.

The unknown male approached the youth, asked them to be friends with him, and requested they accompany the male to his vehicle. The youth declined and sought assistance from employees of the store. The male then left the store.

The male is described as South Asian, 30-40 years old, 6’ tall, with an average build, short dark hair, and a black beard. The male was seen driving a four-door grey SUV.

Investigators would like to identify and speak with the individual pictured below in connection to this incident.

There were no reports of any physical injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ Special Victims Unit.
