WRPS' Traffic Services Unit Investigating after Pedestrian Struck by a Vehicle in Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Services Unit is continuing to investigate a pedestrian-involved collision in Kitchener.

On April 12, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a pick-up truck and a pedestrian on Weber Street East near Madison Avenue North.

Through the initial investigation, police determined the pick-up truck was travelling south on Weber Street East when it struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 56-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 37-year-old male from Michigan, did not sustain any physical injuries.

Weber Street East was closed between Madison Avenue North and Cedar Street North for several hours for the investigation and has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
