High School Co-op Placements

The Waterloo Regional Police Service offers a co-operative education program for local high-school students, in partnership with the Waterloo Regional District School Board and the Waterloo Regional Catholic District School Board.

Each semester, students are offered placements with our service in various areas such as;

  • Records and Access to Information

  • Human Resources

  • Evidence Management

Students have the opportunity to learn about the Waterloo Regional Police Service, work closely with police officers and civilian employees in various branches, and gain valuable on-the-job experience.

At the end of each co-op term, our co-op students are invited to attend an appreciation breakfast with the Chief, and are presented with a certificate for their valuable contributions to our service during their placements.
