The Waterloo Regional Police Service offers a co-operative education program for local high-school students, in partnership with the Waterloo Regional District School Board and the Waterloo Regional Catholic District School Board.
Each semester, approximately ten students are offered placements with our service in various areas such as;
- Records Branch
- Human Resources
- Finance
- Special Events
- Police Reporting Center
Students have the opportunity to learn about the Waterloo Regional Police Service, work closely with police officers and civilian employees in various branches, and gain valuable on-the-job experience.
If you are interested in a co-op placement with our police service, please contact your guidance counsellor for further information.
At the end of each co-op term, current co-op students and teachers are invited to attend the high school co-op appreciation breakfast where they are presented a certificate by the Chief.
Near the end of each school year, co-op information sessions are held at WRPS police headquarters for students interested in participating in the co-op program. Pre-registration is required.
